As a member of the International Personnel
Management Association - Canada, I support the Association's goals and
objectives to promote the application of professional and ethical standards for
public human resource professionals; to contribute to the development of human
resources management; and to encourage the development of human resource
professionals.
As a human resource professional, I will
undertake to maintain the highest standard of professional competence and
professional and personal conduct and further, I will undertake to:
- Respect the dignity and integrity of all
individuals and ensure fair and equitable treatment in all aspects of
human resources management;
- Endeavour to instill in the public, a sense
of confidence and trust respecting the conduct and actions of my employer
and myself in the course of my duties;
- Adhere to all applicable federal,
provincial and local laws, regulations or by-laws respecting the
management of human resources;
- Refrain from any activity which may be, or
may be perceived to be a conflict of interest or which would prejudice my
ability to conduct my duties and responsibilities in a professional
manner;
- Use information acquired in the course of
my duties prudently and avoid using confidential information for personal
gain or in any other way which would be detrimental to my employer and my
profession; and
- Foster professional growth in human
resources management.
